The head of props for I, Robot needed an arsenal of high-tech gear. Iguana Design needed help designing and fabricating futuristic police badges and helmets, custom weaponry, electronics and portable holographic display units. The props had to be durable, film-ready, interactive and turned around in short order.
Double Dare leapt forward, assisting Iguana with 3D CAD concept models, then production-ready designs. Integrating components early in the design process ensured that we were always able to meet the props department’s needs as they developed. Our biggest contribution was a simple, yet effective holographic display unit used by Will Smith’s character to unravel the mysterious death of his colleague.
