The Dare

The UBC Museum of Anthropology was planning a revamp of their visible storage collection. Museum staff needed a scale model to clearly communicate the design concepts with stakeholders. The model had to:

  • Enable a wide variety of individuals to understand the space
  • Show how the research centre would maintain the museum’s commitment to balancing issues of cultural appropriateness, conservation and public access

The Outcome

The model made possible open, transparent and productive discussions with all of the museum’s stakeholders. Decisions about the design and implementation of the research centre were made with the collaborative work of both institutional and community partners.

"[Double Dare] has demonstrated a commitment to a high level of design, [their] expertise in balancing the various requirements of a project shows in the final solution."
