The art department for Paycheck required two high-tech computers, the “Arc” and the “Nexim,” for use in the film's opening credits.Ben Affleck’s character reverse engineers one of the computers to create the second, upgraded one. This meant:
- The computer housings needed to be able to open up, showing internal circuitry
- Intricate ‘plug-n-play’ components had to integrate elegantly for close-up shots
Working with Iguana Design, we were able to conceptualize and develop 3D CAD models for production-ready parts. We also worked with Iguana developing and fabricating the two remote control units (including digital displays, level indicators and backlit buttons) used by Uma Thurman’s character in the film’s climax.
